The Suburban Cook County-DuPage County Health Systems Agency was founded in 1976 and was funded primarily by the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. The organization changed its name to the Suburban Health Planning Association around 1987 after it was no longer primarily a government agency. The agency dissolved in 1989.
